Very last meal. Bangkok transit.

This is our very last meal in Thailand. We're in transit at Bangkok, at a cafe called Mango Tree... courtesy of free airport Wi-Fi.

Krabi airport.

This is Krabi airport, a pleasant enough place. We're on the way home now.

Whoops

Laura dropped her phone on the pebbles by the pool.

Oh dear.

18 Sept. Last swim at the Aonang Villa Resort

Last swim.
Sigh, I don't wanna go home.

That's a stunning back drop.

I will miss this pool and this view.

Last lunch in Ao Nang.

We stop at one of the hotel cafes right on the edge of the beach for our last lunch.
We have tomyam goong soup, and a Thai beef salad.
Now to the pool for one last swim.

18 Sept. The last breakfast at Aonang Villa Resort.

This is it. Out last day, our last breakfast looking out to sea.

17 Sept. Birthday dinner. Cleopatra's on Ao Nang main road.

After a snooze, we head out for dinner.
We stroll up and down for a bit, then settle on Cleopatra.
We have dips and bread, followed by kebabs and chicken tawa. All this followed by Arabic coffee. Yum.

Very nice.

17 Sept. Birthday lunch at Tanta Restaurant on the Ao Nang main road.

Lunch at Tanta's again. Mango salad, sates, curry, beer, then a beautifully thin pizza.

Home to read the Bangkok Post, then maybe a swim.

17 Sept. Happy fiftieth birthday to us.

Groan, fifty today. OK, we're over that, let's move on.
Breakfast of course, but no cross eyed cat this morning.
A quick swim, then a massage by the pool.
To the spa for our herbal body wrap, which is very relaxing.
Next... lunch...

Dinner at the grill - Ao Nang Main Road

We pick this place for supper tonight. We have lovely grilled chicken, grilled corn, grilled prawns and green mango salad.

We finish off with roti pisang, Laura has roti with sugar and lemon. Fear of Missing Out strikes again.
Another lovely day.

Look at all that food. It's so hard to choose.

Slow walk home along Ao Nang Beach

Ah, another slow walk home along the beach

Lunch on the street on Ao Nang Main Road.

We stop for a lunch of chilli basil chicken which is very yummy, and cheap. 40 baht a plate, $1.20 or so.

Shonky wiring

This is very typical of the wiring around town. Shonky, very.

Spa tomorrow at Aonang Villa Resort

This is the spa we are booked into tomorrow. Looks very nice.

16 Sept. Breakfast looking out to sea. Aonang Villa Resort

I love these smorgy board breakfasts, looking out to sea

Daiquiris by the sea at Beach Front Hotel, looking out on Ao Nang Beach

As we stroll home after pancakes, we stop at the Beach Bar again to listen to their guitar player, oh, and to knock back a daiquiri. Happy anniversary.

Strolling out to look for snacks. Main street of Ao Nang.

We've had an afternoon nap and it's time to stroll over to where the Muslim snack stalls are.
We have a few of those wonderful banana pancakes that are cooked in roti bread.

Booked in for body treatment in the spa at Aonang Villa Resort.

We have booked in for a Thai herbal body wrap for our birthday.

Anniversary dinner in Ao Nang. Sept 2013. 12 years.

We decide on an early dinner / late lunch. We go to this very nice place on the main road near the sea called Tanta Restaurant.

The food is good and the beer is cold. We have pad thai, chicken with cashews, garlic prawns, and mussels with basil. Chang Beer to wash it all down.

(Tanta Restaurant on Maps)

Massage by the pool at Aonang Villa Resort.

Laura went for a nap and I stopped for a back massage by the pool. Very nice.

15 Sept. Happy anniversary, and a cross eyed cat. Breakfast at Aonang Villa Resort

12 years today. Happy anniversary.
We have been feeding this poor little cross eyed cat at breakfast time.

Poor thing, but it's well fed.

Krabi night market. Last snacks. We have Fear of Missing Out !

The traffic lights are interesting...

We're both stuffed full, but I finish off with roti banana pancakes, Laura has fish cakes.

Statues over the traffic lights.

Enough! No more food. Well maybe one last taste....

Krabi night market. More and more food.

There's just so much good food! It's just not fair. There's all these wonderful mix and choose meals... rice and pork and egg and chilli and so on...

Dinner boxes to take away...

Make your own dinner...

Lovely to look at

Wonderful curries...

Sates... Yum.

Krabi night market. Squid sate

This is the main sit down area. It's full of life and full of locals enjoying the evening.

We spy squid sates, so have to try one.

Now let's find a table...
